Instant Yogi Tea - Chai Spice Powder

Convenient for a fast cup of tea.  I prefer to grind  the cinnamon sticks fresh with the Thermomix.




Ingredients:
1 finger length fresh Ginger Root
50 g fresh ground Cinnamon Powder
1 Tsp. ground Cardamon
1/2 Tsp. ground Cloves
1/4 - 1/2 Tsp. ground Black Pepper

Method:
  • Chop the ginger on speed 5
  • Add powdered spices and mix together on speed 3
  • Place spice mix in a glass container with a tight lid.
  • To make a cup of tea add one teaspoon of spice mix and black tea to boiling water.
  • Add honey as as weetener and milk (dairy, soy or almond)
  • Strain and enjoy.

Variation:
Try some sifted Spice Powder to flavour cakes and cookies.


Instant Yogi Tee - Chai Gewuerz

Bei Zeitmangel anstatt richtigem Chai die schnelle Instantloesung:


Zutaten:
1 Fingerlaenge Ingwer im TM St. 5 zerkleinern
ca 40 - 50 g Zimt, gemahlen
1 TL Kardamon
1/2 TL gem. Nelken
1/4 - 1/2 TL schw. Pfeffer, gem. vermischen und in ein kl. Schraubglas fuellen


Zubereitung:
  • 1 TL mit kochendem Wasser uebergiessen und ziehenlassen. Wie Kaffee durchfiltern, mit Honig suessen u. Soja oder Mandelmilch zugeben.

Das Gewuerz verwende ich auch gerne durchgesiebt zum Verfeinern von Backwaren und Nachspeisen.

  3. Oh my Tebsile, thank you for this, it's just the inspiration I need! I so love cardamom and ginger and am going to add this to my blog list of "inspiring recipes to try next." This mix would make a lovely food gift too!

    Next, I will view your Florentines. (I was thinking yesterday about making Florentines!) When there is not enough time to do all the fun cooking projects on my list I am happy to read about your successes instead.
